How to reduce screen time on iPhone
Updated October 1, 2026
Start by finding the apps that take most of your time. Then protect a short period for study or work and check whether that choice helped. Focus Garage brings these steps together in an iPhone app.
1. See where your time goes
Apple Screen Time shows how long you use apps and websites. It can also set daily limits and scheduled downtime. Start there if you only need usage data or controls for your family.
Focus Garage places your Screen Time report next to daily and weekly focus time. You can see iPhone use and completed sessions together without assuming that every minute on a screen is wasted.
2. Block distracting apps during a session
Choose a task and set a 15-to-120-minute session. You can select distracting apps to keep blocked while the timer runs. Blocking is optional and requires your permission to use iPhone Screen Time.
This works when you want to protect a study or work block right now. For ongoing daily limits, scheduled downtime, or parental controls, use Apple Screen Time settings.
3. Give the reclaimed time a purpose
Choose a car before you start. Complete the session to earn XP and add the car to your garage. Achievements, history, and statistics help you see consistency over time. The app rewards a finished session rather than time spent looking at the app.
Before downloading: Focus Garage is for iPhone with iOS 26 or later. One complete session is free. Continuing after that requires a weekly, monthly, or annual subscription. There is no free trial; check the App Store price before confirming.
When is Focus Garage a good fit?
It may suit you if you want app blocking during focus sessions, a view of your screen time, and a visual reason to finish each session. It is built for people studying or working on iPhone who enjoy collecting visible progress. If you only need usage measurements, Apple Screen Time already provides them.
